Frequently Asked Questions About RTT® Hypnotherapy
Choosing to invest in yourself and your wellbeing is an important decision, and it’s completely natural to have questions before getting started.
Here are some of the questions I’m asked most often about online RTT® hypnotherapy for anxiety, overthinking, self-doubt, confidence, overwhelm and feeling stuck.
If you have a question that isn’t answered here, please feel free to get in touch.
⸻
What happens during an online RTT® hypnotherapy session?
Every RTT® journey begins with a detailed consultation where we explore what you’re experiencing, your history and what you’d like to change.
During your RTT® session, I’ll guide you into a deeply relaxed state where we explore the experiences, beliefs and subconscious patterns that may be influencing how you think, feel and respond today.
Together, we’ll work to understand where these patterns may have come from and begin creating new, more supportive ways of thinking and responding.
Following your session, you’ll receive a 20-minute bespoke recording created specifically for you and the changes you want to reinforce.
You’ll be encouraged to listen to your recording regularly after your session to support the changes you’re making.
⸻
Will I remember everything during the session?
Yes.
You remain aware and in control throughout the session.
Most people describe RTT® as feeling deeply relaxed while still being able to hear, respond and remember what is happening. You are never unconscious or unaware of what is taking place.
⸻
Where are sessions held?
All RTT® hypnotherapy sessions are held online via WhatsApp video, allowing me to work with clients throughout the UK and internationally.
You simply need a quiet, private space where you can relax without being disturbed and a reliable internet connection.
Being online means you can have your session from the comfort of your own home or wherever you happen to be.
⸻
Are online RTT® sessions as effective as face-to-face sessions?
Online RTT® sessions can be highly effective and provide the same personalised approach as working together face-to-face.
As long as you have a quiet, private space and a stable internet connection, we can work together comfortably online.
Many clients also find that being in their own familiar environment helps them feel relaxed and comfortable during their session.
⸻
Can RTT® help if I don’t know why I feel anxious?
Absolutely.
You don’t always need to know why you feel the way you do.
You may know that you’re anxious, constantly overthinking, lacking confidence or struggling to switch off, without understanding where those feelings are coming from.
RTT® can help us explore the experiences, beliefs and subconscious patterns that may be influencing the way you think, feel and respond.
Understanding these patterns can be an important part of creating a different response moving forward.
⸻
Can RTT® help with anxiety, overwhelm and feeling emotionally exhausted?
Yes.
When your mind feels constantly switched on, it can become difficult to relax, switch off or feel like yourself again.
RTT® can help you explore the patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, overwhelm, emotional exhaustion and the feeling that you’re constantly operating on high alert.
The aim isn’t to make you someone who never feels stressed or overwhelmed.
It’s about helping you feel more steady within yourself and better able to respond when life feels challenging.
⸻
Can RTT® help with overthinking and self-doubt?
Yes.
Overthinking can become a pattern where conversations, decisions, mistakes and “what ifs” are repeatedly replayed in your mind.
You may logically know that you’re capable, yet still find yourself questioning yourself or worrying about what other people think.
RTT® can help you explore the beliefs and patterns underneath these automatic responses and work towards developing greater self-trust and confidence.
⸻
How many RTT® sessions will I need?
Every person is different.
Some people choose to work on one specific issue with a single session, while others feel they would benefit from more time and support.
I offer one, two and three-session options, depending on what you’d like to work on and the level of support you feel you need.
During your free 20-minute discovery call, we can talk about what’s happening for you and I’ll help you understand which option may be the best fit.
⸻
What happens after my RTT® session?
After every RTT® session, you’ll receive a new 20-minute bespoke recording created specifically for you.
Your recording is designed around the work we’ve done together and the changes you want to reinforce.
You’ll be encouraged to listen to it regularly following your session as part of your ongoing work.
If you’re having more than one session, you’ll receive a new bespoke recording after each session, allowing the work to build progressively.
⸻
Does RTT® involve regression?
Regression is one of the techniques used within RTT® to explore experiences and subconscious beliefs that may be connected to your current challenges.
You don’t need to relive difficult experiences in the same way you originally experienced them.
The process is guided safely and supportively, allowing you to gain a different understanding of experiences and the beliefs you may have formed around them.
⸻
How is RTT® different from traditional hypnotherapy?
RTT® combines hypnotherapy with therapeutic techniques to explore the subconscious beliefs and patterns that can influence your thoughts, emotions and behaviours.
Rather than focusing only on managing how you feel in the moment, we can explore what may be underneath the response.
The aim is to understand the pattern and work towards changing the way you automatically think, feel and respond.
⸻

⸻
Is hypnosis the same as being in a trance?
Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention and relaxation.
You may have experienced similar states without even realising it — such as becoming completely absorbed in a book, film or familiar journey.
During RTT®, you remain aware, relaxed and able to communicate throughout the session.
⸻
Is RTT® suitable for everyone?
RTT® is suitable for many people, although it may not be appropriate for everyone.
Before working together, we’ll discuss your circumstances, what you’re experiencing and what you’d like to achieve.
If I don’t believe RTT® is the right approach for you, I’ll always be honest with you and, where appropriate, recommend that you seek a more suitable form of support.
⸻
Is RTT® backed by scientific research?
Research into hypnotherapy continues to develop, with evidence suggesting that hypnosis can be helpful for a range of issues, including anxiety, stress and some behavioural and habit-related concerns.
RTT® incorporates hypnotherapy alongside therapeutic techniques designed to explore beliefs, thought patterns and emotional responses.
As with any therapeutic approach, results vary from person to person and no therapy can guarantee a particular outcome.
⸻
Still have questions?
You don’t need to have everything figured out before you reach out.
If you’re wondering whether RTT® could help you, what happens during a session or which option might be right for you, let’s talk.
A relaxed, no-pressure conversation to talk about what’s been happening, what you’d like to change and whether RTT® feels like the right approach for you.
Your first step can simply be a conversation
